Ever since the first rumors about Apple’s new presentation, everyone has been talking about the new phone, which is supposed to be the thinnest in the brand’s lineup. In September 2025, the company finally unveiled this model: the iPhone Air has a 5.6 mm body, a good camera, and excellent energy efficiency algorithms. Today, we’ll talk about the new line of gadgets, their advantages and disadvantages, and innovations in design and hardware.

Slim Body

Comparing the iPhone Air vs. the iPhone 17, which were released at the same time, the visual differences are immediately noticeable. The former has a body thickness of 5.6 mm compared to 7.9 mm in the base version and a 6.5-inch display compared to 6.3 inches. As soon as you pick up the phone, you will immediately feel the difference. It looks elegant and premium.

Interestingly, Apple has already released thinner gadgets, such as the latest iPad Pro 13 M4 2024, which has a body thickness of 5.1 mm.

The iPhone Air’s design features a titanium frame and Ceramic Shield protective coating on the back, the same as the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Thanks to the titanium, the phone is particularly durable — it’s impossible to bend it with your hands. The camera unit has also changed: there is a single sensor placed on a wide module, inside which a chip is also located. On the back, above the dynamic island, there is a speaker — the only one in this phone.

Thanks to this engineering solution, the manufacturers have reduced the size of the body without sacrificing performance or battery life. The action button and camera controller are located on the sides.

The display has a new generation coating — Ceramic Shield 2, which is three times more scratch-resistant. The iPhone Air comes in different colors than other new models released in 2025: Sky Blue, Light Gold, Cloud White, and Space Black.

Bright and Vivid Display

The iPhone Air’s Super Retina XDR display features ProMotion technology with a refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz — the first time this option has been available outside the professional version. It adjusts the refresh rate to your actions, ensuring comfort for your eyes. Other iPhone Air features:

  • OLED matrix with full-screen design;
  • dynamic island for displaying important information;
  • Always-On technology for a screen that is always active;
  • True Tone function for color temperature adaptation.

Even on a sunny day, you can easily see everything that’s happening on the screen — the iPhone Air’s peak display brightness is 3000 nits. For comparison, the iPhone 16 had 2000 nits.

Front and Main Cameras

The main camera uses a Fusion system with a resolution of 48 MP. It combines the options of four sensors at once, allowing you to take high-quality photos with different settings.

It features Quad-Pixel technology, which takes good pictures even in low light conditions. The 2x optical zoom brings objects twice as close without affecting quality.

The iPhone Air’s front camera has Center Stage technology and 18 MP resolution, which is a feature of all new models in 2025. What the phone can do now:

  • in a vertical position, it takes horizontal selfies thanks to a square sensor;
  • using AI, it widens the viewing angle on group selfies so that everyone is visible;
  • it shoots with both cameras at once, thanks to the Dual Capture option.

Among the special specifications of the iPhone Air is a new photo processing principle. You can take a regular shot, the system will remember the depth data, and when viewing, you can turn it into a professional portrait.

High Performance

The Apple Silicon chipset is responsible for performance and energy efficiency. The A19 Pro processor easily loads heavy programs, processes photos and videos, and runs AAA games. The chip itself is the same as in the Pro line, but with a reduced GPU core. Judging by the reviews of the iPhone Air, the case does not overheat, as stated by the developers.

With the new N1 chip, the phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, and AirDrop and Hotspot now work better. Another innovation is the C1X modem, which makes mobile networks twice as fast. Incidentally, the phone’s energy consumption is reduced by 30%.

iPhone Air Battery Life

The iPhone Air can play videos for up to 27 hours. Software optimization also contributes to energy efficiency. And with iOS 26 support, this trend has only gotten stronger. If you want to extend your battery life, you can add the slim iPhone Air MagSafe Battery.

This version of the operating system features an adaptive power consumption mode. The phone analyzes your behavior and can roughly estimate when the battery will run out. Based on this, it optimizes processes to stretch the charge until the end of the day.

eSIM Instead of Physical Cards

Apple has long since introduced eSIM technology, but has more often used it in parallel with a physical SIM card slot. The iPhone Air only has a digital card — the phone supports multiple numbers. The technology itself is convenient: it offers greater security and a more stable connection.

There will be no problems connecting an eSIM in Uzbekistan. This option is also convenient when traveling abroad, as the technology is already supported by more than 500 operators worldwide.

Sum Up

The main advantages of this new product are its slim body and good hardware. The smartphone loads heavy programs without any issues, takes high-quality photos, lasts a whole day without recharging, and fits comfortably in your hand. The price of the iPhone Air remains somewhere between the basic and professional versions.
